The World’s First High-Precision Mid-Range Digital LiDAR
Product Overview
Fairy is the first high-precision mid-range digital LiDAR. Powered by RoboSense’s innovative chip-based transceiver solution and digital architecture, Fairy features a compact and lightweight design. It boasts industry-leading 0.5cm ultra-high precision, up to 96-beam, and a high-density point cloud of 1.37 million points per second, while offering a wide 360°×32° FOV and a detection range of 150m. With structured point clouds optimized for algorithms, Fairy enables real-time detection of object size, shape, and distance, facilitating 3D mapping, obstacle avoidance, and autonomous navigation for robots with outstanding accuracy.
Leveraging its active illumination technology, Fairy operates independently of ambient light, ensuring stable and continuous performance in nighttime, strong light, rain and fog conditions. This significantly enhances robotic adaptability in complex environments while ensuring highly reliable perception data.
The Fairy features 0.5cm* ultra-high precision, providing robots with enhanced environmental perception for precise positioning, navigation, and obstacle avoidance, significantly improving operational efficiency and safety. Additionally, the high-precision point clouds generated in real-time by Fairy are algorithm-friendly for tasks such as mapping, perception, and fusion, contributing to greater data collection reliability.
The Fairy is available in two versions: 96-beam and 48-beam, with point frequencies of 1.37 million points per second and 685,000 points per second, respectively. Compared with typical 32-beam mid-to-long range LiDAR, the 96-beam version of Fairy offers approximately 170% higher point cloud density. With a high angular resolution of 0.25°×0.33°, Fairy can rapidly detect both dynamic and static small obstacles, efficiently reconstruct 3D environmental data, and ensure reliable collision avoidance.
Fairy is the industry’s lightest mid-to-long range digital LiDAR, featuring a compact size of just φ75×H70 (mm) and weighing less than 350g. It greatly enhances the installation convenience and operational smoothness for handheld mapping devices, drones, and mobile robots.
Fairy integrates the next-generation VCSEL emitting chip and high photon detection efficiency SPAD-SoC chip to reconstruct the LiDAR with a digital transmission and reception solution. With a simplified signal processing and transmission link, Fairy captures more complete and accurate point cloud data, achieving high-quality point cloud imaging while reducing power consumption.
It mainly includes the following components:
- Protective Cover:Both the emitted laser and returned laser need to pass through the specially designed arc-shaped protective cover. Therefore, any obstruction within the laser’s field of view (FOV) is strictly prohibited.
- Aviation Connector:The main body of the LiDAR is connected to the interface box using an aviationconnector, which facilitates power supply and data transmission.
- Mounting Holes:Used to support and fix the position and orientation between the LiDAR and thebracket, it enhances installation efficiency and accuracy.
- M3 Screw Mounting Holes:Used to secure the LiDAR to the mounting bracket with M3 screws.
